After releasing the third beta version of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra last month, reports claimed that the fourth beta update would arrive in mid-January 2026. However, the fourth beta update has now been released, more than a month after the third beta rollout.
Samsung has released the One UI 8.5 Beta 4 update for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. The company is currently rolling it out in its home country, South Korea. We expect the update to reach other countries later today where the One UI 8.5 beta program is available. The update is 1.5GB in size and carries a firmware version ending in ZZAL.
Here is the changelog of the new update:
- Fixed an error where the call would switch to speakerphone by itself.
- Fixed an error that occurred when checking call history in the Phone app.
- Fixed an issue where, in certain situations, only one side could hear audio during calls while a Bluetooth headset was connected.
- Fixed an error where tapping the call log icon would paste the phone number into the keypad.
- Fixed an issue where selecting ‘Copy' in AI Select did not automatically close the AI Select menu.
To get the update, navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Note that this firmware is available only to users who have enrolled their compatible devices in the One UI 8.5 Beta Program.
Samsung is expected to release the stable version of One UI 8.5 to eligible devices soon after launching the Galaxy S26 series, which is set to arrive later this month. You can check out our thoughts on the new One UI version in the video below:
